Artificial neural network for sensor failure detection in an automotive engine

TL;DR: This paper presents a sensor failure detection method with artificial neural network for critical complex equipments, where their dynamic performance usually can not be actually obtained but if the number of measured variables is higher than the order of the system, it can detect the sensor failure and even recover or estimate the correct readings of the failed sensor.

Fault detection in flight control systems via innovation sequence of Kalman filter

TL;DR: In this paper, an approach based on the ratio of two quadratic forms of which matrices are theoretic and selected covariance matrices of Kalman filter innovation sequence for sensor fault detection, is presented.

An energy perspective on modelling, supervision, and control of large-scale industrial systems: Survey and framework

TL;DR: An energy-based framework is proposed whereby energy is used as a unifying domain to work in, to analyse, and to optimise large-scale industrial systems.

Identifiability of process coefficients for technical failure diagnosis

TL;DR: In this paper, the identifiability of process coefficients with given models and instrumentation has been studied from different points of view, although the problems were mostly formulated in a state space representation.

Paper: A survey of design methods for failure detection in dynamic systems

TL;DR: This paper surveys a number of methods for the detection of abrupt changes in stochastic dynamical systems, focusing on the class of linear systems, but the basic concepts carry over to other classes of systems.

Digital Control Systems

TL;DR: This chapter introduces the z-Transform, a new type of transform that combines Laplace Transforms, z-Transforms and Modified Z-TRANSFORMS with Convolution Integral to achieve state-of-the-art control of Discrete-Data Systems.

Parameter estimation for continuous-time models-A survey

TL;DR: The paper reviews the progress of research on parameter estimation for continuous-time models of dynamic systems over the period 1958-1980 and includes a classification system which conforms as closely as possible to that which has arisen naturally over the past two decades.
