A Real-Time Predictive Maintenance System for Machine Systems - An Alternative to Expensive Motion Sensing Technology

TL;DR: In this article, a real-time predictive maintenance system for a clinical micro-drilling process is presented, which is used to estimate the drilling inertia from the motor current signature, hence providing a mechanism of manipulating the drilling process in a stapedotomy procedure.

Intrusion detection through SCADA systems using fuzzy logic-based state estimation methods

TL;DR: To endow the state estimation solution methods with some degree of numerical robustness, algorithm-based error detection (ABED) is applied to the Gaussian elimination procedure and simulation results revealed that ABED provides error detection at low costs and excellent error coverage for floating point arithmetic in the presence of permanent bit and word errors.

Paper: A survey of design methods for failure detection in dynamic systems

TL;DR: This paper surveys a number of methods for the detection of abrupt changes in stochastic dynamical systems, focusing on the class of linear systems, but the basic concepts carry over to other classes of systems.

Parameter estimation for continuous-time models-A survey

TL;DR: The paper reviews the progress of research on parameter estimation for continuous-time models of dynamic systems over the period 1958-1980 and includes a classification system which conforms as closely as possible to that which has arisen naturally over the past two decades.
