Psychological Capital: A Test of Measurement Invariance Across 12 National Cultures
TLDR
In this paper, the authors examined measurement invariance of the 12-item psychological capital survey across 12 national cultures (Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States), representing a cross-section of all major world cultures corresponding to the GLOBE research project.Abstract:
This study examined measurement invariance of the 12-item psychological capital survey across 12 national cultures (Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States), representing a cross-section of all major world cultures corresponding to the GLOBE research project. Analysis of data from 56,363 employees confirms the configural second-order hierarchical factor structure for psychological capital in all national cultures. However, more stringent levels of metric equivalence were supported only with a simplified three-factor structure proposed in this research as a cross-cultural nine-item instrument. Implications for comparing means for psychological capital across national cultures are discussed.read more

Employee well-being in organizations:Theoretical model, scale development, and cross-cultural validation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the theoretical model and structural dimensions of employee well-being (EWB) in organizations, using both qualitative and quantitative methods, and find that EWB comprises three dimensions: life wellbeing, workplace wellbeing and psychological wellbeing.

Spirituality and Strategic Leadership: The Influence of Spiritual Beliefs on Strategic Decision Making
TL;DR: In this article, a framework is proposed that describes how the personal spiritual beliefs of a top level leader operate in strategic decision making like a schema to filter and frame information, mediated by the leader's constructive development and meta-belief and moderated by the organizational context and leadership style.

Using Computer-Aided Text Analysis to Elevate Constructs: An Illustration Using Psychological Capital
TL;DR: The authors apply a framework to develop organizational-level operationalizations of individual-level constructs using the psychological capital construct as an example, and demonstrate how computer-aided text analysis might be utilized to facilitate construct elevation while ensuring proper validation.

Cutoff criteria for fit indexes in covariance structure analysis : Conventional criteria versus new alternatives
Li-tze Hu,Peter M. Bentler +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the adequacy of the conventional cutoff criteria and several new alternatives for various fit indexes used to evaluate model fit in practice were examined, and the results suggest that, for the ML method, a cutoff value close to.95 for TLI, BL89, CFI, RNI, and G...
