Journal ArticleDOI
Binary and Millisecond Pulsars
TL;DR: The main properties, demographics and applications of binary and millisecond radio pulsars are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vela pulsar and its synchrotron nebula
TL;DR: In this article, Chandra X-ray observations of PSR B0833-45, the 89 ms pulsar associated with the Vela supernova remnant, were used to find a toroidal morphology remarkably similar to that observed in the Crab Nebula, along with an axial Crab-like jet.
Journal ArticleDOI
An analysis of the timing irregularities for 366 pulsars
TL;DR: In this paper, a large-scale analysis of pulsar timing noise over time-scales of > 10 yr, with multiple observing frequencies and for a large sample of pulsars, was carried out.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessing the role of spin noise in the precision timing of millisecond pulsars
Ryan Shannon,James M. Cordes +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the rotational spin noise (referred to as timing noise) in non-accreting pulsars was investigated and it was shown that a single scaling law is sufficient to characterize timing noise in millisecond and canonical pulsars, while the same scaling law underestimates the levels of timing noises in magnetars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Density power spectrum in the local interstellar medium
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of interstellar medium electron density irregularities over a wide range of scale sizes has been investigated and it has been shown that the electron density fluctuations near the outer scale of the spectrum are consistent with a density spectrum of the wavenumber form -3.7 + or - 0.6.
