Abstract

On-line process fault diagnosis using neural network techniques:

TL;DR: A neural-network based on-line fault-diagnosis system for industrial processes is presented and it is shown that it can perform satisfactorily with partially incorrect and partially unavailable information and can tolerate measurement noise and model-plant mismatch.

An integrated approach to simulation-based learning in support of strategic and project management in software organisations

Dietmar Pfahl
TL;DR: The main contribution of the research work lies in the design, application and validation of a framework for Integrated Measurement, Modelling, and Simulation (IMMoS), which supports managers to cope with the dynamic complexity of software development by providing guidance on building and using quantitative simulation models as a source for learning and improvement.

A first principles approach to automated troubleshooting of chemical plants

TL;DR: A prototype first principles-based troubleshooting system capable of analyzing the dynamic behavior of individual process units or small subsystems is presented, exploiting QPT's explicit representation of the conditions under which phenomena are believed to hold and the constraints they contribute to the model.

Neural networks for fault diagnosis of a nuclear fuel processing plant at different operating points

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the application of a single neural-network for the diagnosis of non-catastrophic faults in an industrial nuclear processing plant operating at different points.

Application of artificial neural networks in process fault diagnosis

TL;DR: The multi-layer perceptron network yields reliable fault diagnosis, while the networks which are trained unsupervised are not able to diagnose all situations correctly and on the other hand, self-organizing networks can produce valuable information about relationships between different fault situations.
