Abstract

Automatic qualitative trend simulation method for diagnosing faults in industrial processes

TL;DR: An automatic method of qualitative simulation for industrial processes to predict the steady-state measurement patterns arising from different faults by automatically generating new qualitative equations from the generic quantitative model without the need of knowing the value of its parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-causal versus causal qualitative modelling and simulation

TL;DR: In this article, the basic concepts used in both approaches, in addition to representation formalisms and algorithms, are discussed, as well as the representation formalism and algorithms used to represent causality explicitly.

Qualitative modelling of chemical processes: a weighted digraph (WDG) approach

TL;DR: The methodology is able to provide a very satisfactory qualitative description of the dynamic trajectories of the systems and avoid ambiguous solutions and offers the prospect of being able to anticipate problems at the preliminary process design stage and points to ways of overcoming them.

Computational Challenges in Systems Biology

TL;DR: This chapter examines the challenges and some of the recent advances in computational systems biology and advanced research in coarse graining will pave the way for progress in the development of multiscale multidomain modeling that can connect fundamental research in network biology to clinical research.

Qualitative Algebra and Graph Theory Methods for Dynamic Trend Analysis of Continuous System

TL;DR: A qualitative affection equation based on multiple conditions is proposed, which enables the signed direct graphs to describe complex systems better and improves the fault diagnosis resolution.
