TLDR
Quantitative genetics refers to the study of inheritance of traits whose phenotypes show more or less continuous distributions.Abstract:
Quantitative genetics refers to the study of inheritance of traits whose phenotypes show more or less continuous distributions. There is no compelling reason for distinguishing among related terms such as ‘biometrical genetics’, ‘statistical genetics’, nor, in some cases, ‘population genetics’. All are concerned with the study of how genes affect important characteristics, how they interact with environmental factors, and how they can be manipulated to give improved plant or animal strains.read more

Molecular-marker-facilitated investigations of quantitative trait loci in maize : 4. Analysis based on genome saturation with isozyme and restriction fragment length polymorphism markers.
TL;DR: Many of the factors that affected plant height quantitatively in this investigation were found to map to regions also including known sites of major genes influencing plant height, suggesting that some of the identified QTLs may be allelic to known major genes affecting plant height.

Using genotype-by-environment interaction for crop cultivar development

What proportion of declared QTL in plants are false
TL;DR: The false discovery rate (FDR) is the probability that a quantitative trait locus (QTL) is false, given that a QTL has been declared, in an F2 mapping population given different numbers of QTL, population sizes, and trait heritabilities.

Family selection in plant breeding
TL;DR: A critical review of practical principles of genetic variances between and within full-sib families is proposed and only the best few, judged against standards as having potential for superior segregates, should be exploited thoroughly.

Stability Parameters for Comparing Varieties

TL;DR: The model, Yij = μ1 + β1Ij + δij, defines stability parameters that may be used to describe the performance of a variety over a series of environments to see whether genetic differences could be detected.
