Tetrathiafulvalene Derivatives as NLO-phores: Synthesis, Electrochemistry, Raman Spectroscopy, Theoretical Calculations, and NLO Properties of Novel TTF-Derived Donor-π-Acceptor Dyads

TL;DR: Novel pi-conjugated donor-acceptor chromophores, based on the strong electron-donating tetrathiafulvalene moiety and different electron-withdrawing acceptors, exhibit large second-order optical nonlinearities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure-property relationships in push-pull amino/cyanovinyl end-capped oligothiophenes: quantum chemical and experimental studies.

TL;DR: A series of push-pull chromophores built around thiophene-based pi-conjugating spacers and bearing various types of amino donors and cyanovinyl acceptors have been analyzed to derive useful information about the molecular structure of these NLO-phores.

Neutral-to-ionic transition in tetrathiafulvalene- p-chloranil as investigated by optical reflection spectra

TL;DR: In this article, the dominant part of the neutral-to-ionic transition in a tetrathiafulvalene-p-chloranil (TTFCA) single crystal over the temperature range from 2 K to room temperature was investigated and it was shown that the transition occurs in a temperature range of about 30 K in width.

FT-IR absorption spectroscopy of BEDT-TTF radical salts: charge transfer and donor-anion interaction

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the metal-insulator phase transition of α-(BEDT-TTF) 2 I 3 at 135 K with respect to this vibrational model ν 27 and showed that it is possible to detect a charge localization in at least one of the two crystallographic different stacks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Substitutional Impurities on the Neutral-to-Ionic Phase Transition in TTF- p -Chloranil Crystal

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of impurities on the neutral-to-ionic phase transition in TTF-chloranil crystal was investigated and it was concluded that the phase transition occurs inhomogeneously due to a binary phase separation into quasi-ionic and quasi-neutral regions.

Raman spectra of conducting TCNQ salts; Estimation of the degree of charge transfer from vibrational frequencies

TL;DR: In this paper, the linear dependency of TCNQ ν4 frequencies on the formal charge was observed and was attributed to the motional narrowing of the Raman band by hopping of conduction electrons.
