Metal nanoparticle ensembles: tunable laser pulses distinguish monomer from dimer vibrations.
TL;DR: Resonant interaction of laser pulses with plasmons is used to identify vibrations associated with isolated spheres and pairs of contacting spheres in a system of gold nanoparticles, which generates coherent mechanical oscillations of both monomers and dimers in the 5-150 GHz range.

Raman scattering of InAs/AlAs quantum dot superlattices grown on (001) and (311)B GaAs surfaces
Alexander G. Milekhin,Nikolay A. Yeryukov,Alexander Toropov,Dmitry Dmitriev,Evgeniya Sheremet,Dietrich R. T. Zahn +5 more
TL;DR: A comparative analysis of Raman scattering by acoustic and optical phonons in InAs/AlAs quantum dot superlattices grown on (001) and ( 311)B GaAs surfaces shows doublets of folded longitudinal acoustic phonons up to the fifth order were observed in the Raman spectra of (001)- and (311)B-oriented quantum dotsuperlatticing measured in polarized scattering geometries.

Resonant raman-brillouin scattering in semiconductor and metallic nanostructures: from nano-acoustics to acousto-plasmonics
TL;DR: In this article, the concept of acousto-plasmonique is introduced for decoding the modulation of a processus de diffusion inelastique of a lumiere by vibrations acoustiques (VA) basses frequences.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering by CdS quantum dots
Alexander G. Milekhin,L. L. Sveshnikova,T. A. Duda,Nikolay V. Surovtsev,Sergei Adichtchev,Dietrich R. T. Zahn +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, surface enhanced Raman scattering is studied in nanostructures with CdS quantum dots formed by using the Langmuir-Blodgett technology, and the dependence of the Raman intensity on the excitation energy is resonant with a maximum at the energy corresponding to the maximal absorption of Ag clusters.
