HSecGR: Highly Secure Geographic Routing

TL;DR: This paper proposes and evaluates a new security approach that secures geographic routing protocols against a variety of attacks and based the use of MACs to allow intermediate nodes to verify the authenticity and the integrity of forwarded packets and uses authenticated acknowledgements to prevent packet dropping attacks.

Performance Analysis of Clustering-Based Routing Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks

TL;DR: From the experimental analysis, it is noted that the ring routing is highly efficient than the FSC and Fuzzy-based Clustering in terms of residual energy, number of alive nodes and dead nodes, and minimum end-to-end delay.

F2SO: An Energy Efficient Cluster Based Routing Protocol Using Fuzzy Firebug Swarm Optimization Algorithm in WSN

TL;DR: In this article , a fuzzy decision module automatically adjusts the search behavior of firebug swarm optimization algorithm to provide energy efficient cluster routing protocols for wireless sensor network. But the proposed methodology offers improved end-to-end delay, increased packet delivery ratio, higher throughput, low packet drop ratio and minimizes energy consumption when compared with the existing WSN routing protocols.

Energy-efficient communication protocol for wireless microsensor networks

TL;DR: The Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) as mentioned in this paper is a clustering-based protocol that utilizes randomized rotation of local cluster based station (cluster-heads) to evenly distribute the energy load among the sensors in the network.

Energy-efficient communication protocols for wireless microsensor networks

TL;DR: LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), a clustering-based protocol that utilizes randomized rotation of local cluster based station (cluster-heads) to evenly distribute the energy load among the sensors in the network, is proposed.

An application-specific protocol architecture for wireless microsensor networks

TL;DR: This work develops and analyzes low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH), a protocol architecture for microsensor networks that combines the ideas of energy-efficient cluster-based routing and media access together with application-specific data aggregation to achieve good performance in terms of system lifetime, latency, and application-perceived quality.

HEED: a hybrid, energy-efficient, distributed clustering approach for ad hoc sensor networks

TL;DR: It is proved that, with appropriate bounds on node density and intracluster and intercluster transmission ranges, HEED can asymptotically almost surely guarantee connectivity of clustered networks.

PEGASIS: Power-efficient gathering in sensor information systems

TL;DR: PEGASIS (power-efficient gathering in sensor information systems), a near optimal chain-based protocol that is an improvement over LEACH, is proposed, where each node communicates only with a close neighbor and takes turns transmitting to the base station, thus reducing the amount of energy spent per round.
