1/f fluctuations under acoustic cavitation of liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, a regime of a generation of fluctuations with 1 / f power spectra under cavitation of liquids in an ultrasonic field has been found experimentally, where the acoustic cavitation is accompanied by the formation of various spatial structures and scale invariant distribution functions of fluctuations.

Anisotropy and Universality: The Oslo Model, the Rice Pile Experiment, and the Quenched Edwards-Wilkinson Equation

TL;DR: It is shown that any amount of anisotropy moves the Oslo model to another known universality class, the exponents of which can be derived exactly and may explain why consistent exponents have not been extracted in the rice pile experiments.

Boundary conditions and defect lines in the Abelian sandpile model.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a universal coefficient associated with height probabilities near the defect can be used to classify boundary conditions and varying the amount of dissipation at a boundary of the Abelian sandpile model does not affect the universality class of the boundary condition.
