Silica gel containing sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen as adsorbent centers on surface for removing copper from aqueous/ethanolic solutions.

TLDR
The new modified silica showed a good sorption ability for copper at lower temperatures and its reuse capacity was demonstrated and infrared and (13)C NMR spectroscopic data in conjunction with thermogravimetric measurements are in agreement with the suggested functionalization.

Adsorption of Pb(II) from aqueous solution by silica-gel supported hyperbranched polyamidoamine dendrimers.

TL;DR: FTIR analysis revealed that amine groups were mainly responsible for the adsorption of Pb(II) by amino-terminated adsorbents, while CO of ester groups also participated in the adsOrption process of esters, suggesting that SiO(2)-G0-SiO( 2)-G4.0 had great potential for the removal of P b( II) from aqueous solution.

Fabrication and application of a new modified electrochemical sensor using nano-silica and a newly synthesized Schiff base for simultaneous determination of Cd2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ ions in water and some foodstuff samples

TL;DR: It was found that the electrodes used for rapid, simple, accurate, selective and highly sensitive simultaneous determination of cadmium, copper and mercury using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) is highly selective.

Preparation of ethylenediamine-anchored cellulose and determination of thermochemical data for the interaction between cations and basic centers at the solid/liquid interface

TL;DR: With the exception of the entropic value for copper, the other thermodynamic data for these systems are favorable for cation adsorption from aqueous solutions at the solid/liquid interface, suggesting the use of this anchored biopolymer for cations removal from the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper determination in ethanol fuel by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry at a solid paraffin-based carbon paste electrode modified with 2-aminothiazole organofunctionalized silica

TL;DR: The developed electrode was successfully applied to the determination of Cu(2+) in commercial ethanol fuel samples and the results were compared to those obtained by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy by using the F-test and t-test, confirming that there are no significant differences between the results obtained by both methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly selective solid-phase extraction of trace Pd(II) by murexide functionalized halloysite nanotubes.

TL;DR: The originality on the high efficiency of murexide modified halloysite nanotubes as a new adsorbent of solid phase extraction has been reported to preconcentrate and separate Pd(II) in solution samples with satisfactory results.
