Regional and Sectoral Effects of a Common Monetary Policy: Evidence from Euro Referenda in Denmark and Sweden
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used spatial models to analyze referenda and found that voters in regions with a high proportion of interest-sensitive sectors and low international integration tend to oppose participation in a currency union and the opposite is true for non-interest sensitive sectors with relatively high integration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting the distribution of households and employment: a seemingly unrelated regression model with two spatial processes
Bin Zhou,Kara M. Kockelman +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first application of a feasible generalized spatial 3SLS estimation procedure for a seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) model with two spatial processes is presented. And the results show that this more generalized model is superior to its constrained versions (e.g., SUR models without spatial components or with just a spatial lag or spatial error process).

Land consumption and income in Ecuador: A case of an inverted environmental Kuznets curve.
Nicola Pontarollo,Rodrigo Muñoz +1 more
TL;DR: The spatial panel regression model is used to estimate the land Kuznets curve and examines spatial auto-correlations in the building permits in Ecuador to find out whether economic development has a U-shape relationship with land use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial dependence multilevel model of well-being across regions in Europe
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined how nested and spatial structures explain variations in individual well-being across regions in Europe using the 2008 European Values Study, comprising 23,483 respondents residing in 200 regions (NUTS2).
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-time prediction of public bike sharing system demand using generalized extreme value count model
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed generalized extreme value (GEV) count models that can predict hourly bike arrivals and departures at each station while accounting for time-of-day, weather, built environment, infrastructure, temporal, and spatial dependency factors.

Statistics for spatial data
Noel A Cressie,Noel A Cressie +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a survey of statistics for spatial data in the field of geostatistics, including spatial point patterns and point patterns modeling objects, using Lattice Data and spatial models on lattices.

Spatial Econometrics: Methods and Models
TL;DR: In this article, a typology of Spatial Econometric Models is presented, and the maximum likelihood approach to estimate and test Spatial Process Models is proposed, as well as alternative approaches to Inference in Spatial process models.

5. Statistics for Spatial Data
Mike Rees,N. Cressie +1 more
TL;DR: Cressie et al. as discussed by the authors presented the Statistics for Spatial Data (SDS) for the first time in 1991, and used it for the purpose of statistical analysis of spatial data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Endogenous Social Effects: The Reflection Problem
TL;DR: The authors examined the reflection problem that arises when a researcher observing the distribution of behaviour in a population tries to infer whether the average behaviour in some group influences the behaviour of the individuals that comprise the group.

Spatial Processes Models and Applications
Andrew Cliff,J. Keith Ord +1 more
TL;DR: The authors describe various ways the degree of spatial autocorrelation in a set of variate values can be assessed and to which the pattern formed by the location of objects treatable as points can be examined.
