TLDR
Cell filtration on affinity columns prepared by the chemical modification of large polyacrylamide beads selectively bind cells that produce antihapten antibodies of corresponding specificity, which may be useful in specifically purifying cell populations with characteristic membrane-receptor proteins.
Abstract
Cell filtration is performed on affinity columns prepared by the chemical modification of large polyacrylamide beads. Affinity columns selectively bind cells that produce antihapten antibodies of corresponding specificity, while cells without the specific antihapten sites pass through freely and are recovered quantitatively in the eluate. The binding of the antihapten specific cells is inhibited by hapten. Such cell filtration affinity columns may be useful in specifically purifying cell populations with characteristic membrane-receptor proteins.

The regulatory influence of activated T cells on B cell responses to antigen.

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the intimate mechanisms of the regulation of antibody responses by T cells, the significance of these phenomena for the regulatory processes of the immune system, and their possible implication for the pathogenesis of various immunopathological states.

Membrane receptors and hormone action.

TL;DR: This chapter describes the relation between biological activity and binding, physicochemical detection and assay of receptors, solubilization of membrane receptors, examples of membrane-localized receptors, affinity techniques, polyvalent hormone derivatives, and receptor studies, and theoretical mechanisms of hormone–receptor binding and action.

Monomeric IgE stimulates signaling pathways in mast cells that lead to cytokine production and cell survival.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that monomeric IgE (mIgE) in the absence of antigen (Ag) stimulates multiple phosphorylation events in normal murine bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) and leads to a more potent production of cytokines than IgE + Ag.

Membrane immunoglobulins and antigen receptors on B and T lymphocytes.

TL;DR: There are several qualitative and quantitative distinctions between T-cell and B-cell M-Ig that may explain many of the apparent differences in reactivity of these cells without requiring the existence of a different set of V genes or non-IG receptors in T cells.
