Journal ArticleDOI

Rivastigmine-loaded PLGA and PBCA nanoparticles: preparation, optimization, characterization, in vitro and pharmacodynamic studies.

TL;DR: Pharmacodynamic study demonstrated faster regain of memory loss in amnesic mice with both PLGA and PBCA NPs when compared to RT solution, indicating rapid and higher extent of transport of RT into the mice brain and thus shows the suitability of both NPs as potential carriers for providing sustained brain delivery of RT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface roughness prediction by factorial design of experiments in turning processes

TL;DR: In this paper, a development of models which permit to determine surface quality of parts obtained through turning processes is carried out using the response surface methodology, which can be used to measure and characterise surface properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photosynthesis in modulated light: Quantitative dependence of photosynthetic enhancement on flashing rate

TL;DR: The photosynthetic rate of cells of Phaeodactylum tricornutum from a dense steady state culture was determined as a function of modulation frequency, intensity of light received, and the proportion of the total cycle period during which the cells were illuminated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interactive effects of pH, arsenic and phosphorus on uptake of As and P and growth of the arsenic hyperaccumulator Pteris vittata L. under hydroponic conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the effects and interactions of three factors, pH, As and P, on As hyperaccumulator Pteris vittata L. to optimize plant growth and maximize As removal from contaminated sites, especially water, were examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fermentation of molasses by Zymomonas mobilis: Effects of temperature and sugar concentration on ethanol production

TL;DR: Ethanol production from sugar cane molasses was analyzed under different culture conditions using Z. mobilis in batch fermentation, showing that molasses presents a buffering effect.
