Virus-Receptor Interaction in an Adenovirus System

TL;DR: Cellular fractionation revealed that receptors were confined mainly to the plasma membrane fraction and that negligible receptor activity could be demonstrated in enzyme-treated cells, and adsorption studies indicate that 10(5) to 10(6) receptor sites are available for the structural protein.

TL;DR: In this paper, the 1.8 A resolution structure of the microbial enzyme Streptomyces griseus protease A in its native conformation, and in complexes with Ac-Pro-Ala-pro-Phe-OH (I), Ac Pro-AlA-ProTyr-OH(II) and Ac Pro Ala-ProPhe H (IV), all at pH 4.1.

Isoelectric focusing in layers of granulated gels. II. Preparative isoelectric focusing.

TL;DR: Experiments on a quartz plate followed by densitometric evaluation in situ at 280 nm have demonstrated that it is possible to proceed from analytical thin-layer isoelectric focusing to preparative separations without loss of resolution, just by changing the dimension of the gel layer and increasing the protein load.

Comparative specificity of microbial proteinases.

TL;DR: The hydrolysis of peptides by pepstatin-sensitive enzymes was markedly accelerated by elongating the peptide chain by three amino acid residues on both sides of the splitting point, while the elongation of two residues produced the same effect with the pepStatin-insensitive enzyme.

TL;DR: It is considered simpler and more useful to describe completely the procedures as they are now used in this laboratory, and to avoid confusion about results already published no radical changes have been made.
