TLDR
In this paper, a linear mode-locked femtosecond dye laser was analyzed and a direct study of the colliding pulse effect was made, where a hybrid and passive mode-locking operation of the astigmatic compensated cavity was discussed.
Abstract
Astigmatism compensation and stability of a linear mode-locked femtosecond dye laser is analysed. Hybrid and passive mode-locking operation of the astigmatic compensated cavity is discussed. A direct study of the colliding pulse effect is made.

Amplitude and phase recording of ultrashort pulses

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase of ultrashort pulses were measured with simulated and real data, and the performance of the method was evaluated with real data and simulated data.

Bidirectional, synchronously pumped, ring optical parametric oscillator.

TL;DR: The operation of a bidirectional femtosecond pulsed ring optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled lithium niobate, pumped alternately with nonsimultaneous pulses from a Ti:sapphire mode-locked laser is reported.

Intracavity phase interferometry: frequency combs sensor inside a laser cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present methods of operating mode-locked laser in which two independent pulses circulate, producing two frequency combs of the same repetition rate, measured by beating the two pulse trains emitted by the laser.

Laser resonators with several mirrors and lenses with the bow-tie laser resonator with compensation for astigmatism and thermal lens effects as an example

Haim Abitan, +1 more
- 01 Jan 2005 -
TL;DR: In this article, the bow-tie laser resonator is discussed as an example and ways to correct for astigmatism and thermal lens effects in this resonator are presented, as well as how to correct the effect of thermal lenses on the bow tie resonator.

Negative dispersion using pairs of prisms.

TL;DR: It is shown that pairs of prisms can have negative group-velocity dispersion in the absence of any negative material dispersion.

Generation of optical pulses shorter than 0.1 psec by colliding pulse mode locking

TL;DR: In this article, a novel passive mode-locking technique was proposed in which two synchronized counterpropagating pulses interact in a thin, saturable absorber to produce a short pulse.

Control and measurement of ultrashort pulse shapes (in amplitude and phase) with femtosecond accuracy

TL;DR: It is shown that, for example, a train of unchirped pulses randomly distributed in frequency can have the same interferometric autocorrelation than a single chirped pulse, proof that pulse-to-pulse fluctuations are negligible.

Generation of optical pulses as short as 27 femtoseconds directly from a laser balancing self-phase modulation, group-velocity dispersion, saturable absorption, and saturable gain

TL;DR: An ultrasbort-pulse laser is described that, under specific operating conditions, balances the mechanisms of conventional passive mode locking and solitonlike pulse shaping in a single resonator to generate optical pulses that are to the authors' knowledge the shortest yet emitted directly from a laser.
