Unsymmetrical and Symmetrical Push–Pull Phenothiazines

TL;DR: The single-photon absorption on phenothiazines 3-7 reveals that substitution of 1,1,4,4-tetracyanobutadiene (TCBD) and a cyclohexa-2,5-diene-1, 4-diylidene-expanded TCBD unit results in strong intramolecular charge transfer and lowering of the LUMO energy level.

Tuning the optoelectronic properties of phenothiazine-based D‒A-type emitters through changing acceptor pattern

TL;DR: In this paper, the C'C bond of the phenanthro[9,10-d ]imidazole acceptor was broken, and a new acceptor with a more twisted conformation was obtained.

Coumarin-indole conjugate donor-acceptor system: Synthesis, photophysical properties, anion sensing ability, theoretical and biological activity studies of two coumarin-indole based push-pull dyes

TL;DR: In this paper, two coumarin-indole conjugate fluorescent dyes having donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) (CI-1 and CI-2 ) were synthesized, and characterized using IR, 1 H/ 13 C NMR and HRMS.

Synthesis and spectral properties of coumarins derivatives fluorescence emitters: Experiment and DFT/TDDFT calculations

TL;DR: In this article, high-fluorescence, 3-(p-nitrophenyl)-7-diethylamino and 3-cyano-7-diminocoumarin derivatives differing by the position of substituents and acceptors groups were investigated and characterized using 1H, 13C NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy analysis.

Solvatochromic fluorescence properties of phenothiazine-based dyes involving thiazolo[4,5-b]quinoxaline and benzo[e]indole as strong acceptors.

TL;DR: The present work describes the photophysical properties of two newly synthesized compounds, namely (E)-10-butyl-3-(2-(thiazolo[4,5-b]quinoxalin-2-yl)vinyl)-10H-phenothiazine (PTQ) and (E), indicating that the excited states of both dyes behave differently with respect to solvent polarity.

Efficient green coumarin dopants for organic light-emitting devices.

TL;DR: C-545P has good thermal properties and photostability, and when fabricated as a dopant in an Alq(3)-hosted OLED device, it shows notable improvement in luminance efficiency and is more resistant to concentration quenching than C-545T.
