Dependence of the properties of titanium-pillared clays on the host matrix : A comparison of montmorillonite, saponite and rectorite pillared materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used montmorillonite, saponite and rectorite to construct titanium pillared clays and showed that the amount of Ti incorporated is related to the cation-exchange capacity of the host.

Delamination through sonication for hydroxy metal oxide sol intercalation of montmorillonite
TL;DR: Boehmite intercalated alumina pillared montmorillonite has been prepared from a 10% aqueous suspension of the sodium exchanged montmoroniite in as short a period as 20 min through ultrasonication at 32 °C, which has resulted in Al-PILC having specific surface area 165 m 2 /g and d -spacing 17 A, stable up to 700 °C as discussed by the authors.
