Journal ArticleDOI
Level compressibility in a critical random matrix ensemble: the second virial coefficient
TL;DR: In this article, the spectral statistics of a Gaussian unitary critical ensemble of almost diagonal Hermitian random matrices with off-diagonal entries were studied and it was shown that only the leading terms in χ(b) coincide for this model and for an exactly solvable model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of a multi-frequency electromagnetic imaging functional for thin, crack-like electromagnetic inclusions
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the structure of subspace migration imaging functional and proposed an improved imaging functional weighted by the frequency, which not only retains the advantages of the traditional imaging functional but also improves the imaging performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-axis expansion of stellarator equilibrium at arbitrary order in the distance to the axis
TL;DR: In this paper, a direct construction of equilibrium magnetic fields with toroidal topology at arbitrary order in the distance from the magnetic axis is carried out, yielding an analytical framework able to explore the landscape of possible magnetic flux surfaces in the vicinity of the axis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of a mode-I crack perpendicular to an imperfect interface
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the elastostatic problem of a mode-I crack embedded in a bimaterial with an imperfect interface, which is governed by linear spring-like relations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oscillations in the expression of a self-repressed gene induced by a slow transcriptional dynamics.
Pierre-Emmanuel Morant,Quentin Thommen,François Lemaire,Constant Vandermoëre,Benjamin Parent,Marc Lefranc +5 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the dynamics of a gene repressed by its own protein in the case where the transcription rate does not adapt instantaneously to protein concentration but is a dynamical variable yields analytical criteria for the appearance of sustained oscillations.
