Photoisomerization in a Platinum−Amido Pincer Complex: An Excited-State Reaction Pathway Controlled by Localized Ligand Photochemistry
TL;DR: Computational investigations of the electronic spectroscopy and photochemical isomerization in the complex (bis(8-quinolinyl)amido)PtMe2I are presented in this paper.

8.14 – Nitrogen Activation
TL;DR: In this article, the inorganic chemistry of dinitrogen activation is described, including how N2 is activated by bonding to a metal; examples of N2 coordinated to metal; reactions of activated dinitrogens that yield ammonia and other products from the reduction of N 2; and finally, a discussion of how activation can be directly incorporated into organic molecules, bypassing the intermediate formation of ammonia.

Efficient alkene hydrosilation with bis(8-quinolyl)phosphine (NPN) nickel catalysts. The dominant role of silyl-over hydrido-nickel catalytic intermediates
Jian Yang,Verònica Postils,Michael I. Lipschutz,Meg E. Fasulo,Christophe Raynaud,Eric Clot,Odile Eisenstein,Odile Eisenstein,T. Don Tilley +8 more
TL;DR: DFT studies reveal the presence of two coupled catalytic cycles based on [(NPN)NiH]+ and [(Npn)NiSiR3]+ active species, with the latter being more efficient for producing the product.
