TLDR
In this paper, Potentiostatic and isothermal immersion tests have been used to investigate pitting corrosion in the weld metal of low carbon (<0.03%C) austenitic stainless steels.

Studies on pitting corrosion and sensitization in laser rapid manufactured specimens of type 316L stainless steel

TL;DR: In this article, the pitting corrosion and sensitization in laser rapid manufactured specimens of type 316L stainless steel are studied and compared with its wrought and weld deposit (by plasma transferred arc welding-PTAW) counterparts.

Effect of composition on the solidification behavior of several Ni-Cr-Mo and Fe-Ni-Cr-Mo alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the microstructural development of several Ni-Cr-Mo and Fe-Ni-cr-Mo alloys over a range of conditions has been examined and the observed solidification reaction sequences were primarily dependent on the segregation behavior of molybdenum (Mo), which was unaffected by the large difference in cooling rate between differential thermal analysis (DTA) samples and welded specimens.

The effect of microstructure on microbiologically influenced corrosion

TL;DR: The microscopic heterogeneity of many materials, whether created intentionally or as an artifact, is quite clear on the scale of microbes and is an important and overlooked factor in microbiologically influenced corrosion as discussed by the authors.

Corrosion of Weldments

A. Wahid
TL;DR: In this article, the role of macrocompositional and microeompositional variations, a feature common to weldments, is emphasized to bring out differences that need to be realized in comparing corrosion of weldments to that of wrought materials.
