The role of microRNAs and other endogenous small RNAs in plant stress responses.

TLDR
The observation that some of the small RNAs are up- or down-regulated in response to stress implies that these smallRNAs have a role in stress tolerance and a better understanding of such processes will lead to new strategies to improve plant stress tolerance.

Abscisic Acid: Emergence of a Core Signaling Network

TL;DR: A new model for ABA action has been proposed and validated, in which the soluble PYR/PYL/RCAR receptors function at the apex of a negative regulatory pathway to directly regulate PP2C phosphatases, which in turn directly regulate SnRK2 kinases.

Role of miRNAs and siRNAs in biotic and abiotic stress responses of plants

TL;DR: Understanding how small RNAs regulate gene expression will enable researchers to explore the role of smallRNAs in biotic and abiotic stress responses, and this review focuses on the regulatory roles of plant small RN as in the adaptive response to stresses.

Functions of microRNAs in plant stress responses.

TL;DR: Recent progress in the understanding of miRNA-mediated plant stress tolerance is reviewed.

Diverse set of microRNAs are responsive to powdery mildew infection and heat stress in wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.)

TL;DR: It is indicated that diverse set of wheat miRNAs were responsive to powdery mildew infection and heat stress and could function in wheat responses to both biotic and abiotic stresses.

Transgenerational Adaptation of Arabidopsis to Stress Requires DNA Methylation and the Function of Dicer-Like Proteins

TL;DR: Exposure ofArabidopsis plants to stresses resulted in a higher HRF, increased global genome methylation, and higher tolerance to stress in the untreated progeny, consistent with the hypothesis that stress-induced transgenerational responses in Arabidopsis depend on altered DNA methylation and smRNA silencing pathways.

MicroRNAs: Genomics, Biogenesis, Mechanism, and Function

TL;DR: Although they escaped notice until relatively recently, miRNAs comprise one of the more abundant classes of gene regulatory molecules in multicellular organisms and likely influence the output of many protein-coding genes.

MicroRNAs AND THEIR REGULATORY ROLES IN PLANTS

TL;DR: The importance of miRNA-directed gene regulation during plant development is now particularly clear and typically at the cores of gene regulatory networks, targeting genes that are themselves regulators, such as those encoding transcription factors and F-box proteins.

Drought and Salt Tolerance in Plants

TL;DR: The responses of plants to salt and water stress are described, the regulatory circuits which allow plants to cope with stress are presented, and how the present knowledge can be applied to obtain tolerant plants is discussed.
