Improving organic solar cell efficiency using solution processed poly (3-hexylthiophene) buffer layer

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that inserting buffered poly 3-hexylthiophene layer between hole transport layer and blended polymer: fullerene active layer of the organic solar cell (OSC) improves power conversion efficiency by 34% over the conventional OSC.

Energy Harvesting: Technologies, Systems, and Challenges

TL;DR: A thorough treatment of energy harvesting technologies, highlighting radio frequency (RF) and hybrid-multiple technology harvesting, and summarizes the challenges of different system implementations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement of an Al2O3/CuO heterostructure photoelectrode by controlling the Al2O3 precursor concentration

TL;DR: In this article, an Al2O3 capping layer was grown on a CuO photoelectrode using microwave-chemical bath deposition, and the effect of the concentration of the Al 2O3 precursor solution on the morphological, structural, optical, electrical and photo-electrochemical properties of the al2O 3/CuO 3 heterostructure photoelectromechanical system was investigated.

Photoinduced wetting kinetics of water on immersed nanoporous titania surfaces with application to oil-water separation

TL;DR: In this paper, the self-cleaning ability of titania surfaces in oil-water environments for fouling recovery in oilwater separation applications was studied, where titania nanoporous surfaces were prepared by depositing TiO 2 nanoparticles onto flat substrates using Layer-by-Layer assembly, and were then impregnated with oil to simulate typical fouling conditions experienced in oil water separation applications.

Simple Solar Spectral Model for Direct and Diffuse Irradiance on Horizontal and Tilted Planes at the Earth's Surface for Cloudless Atmospheres

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple model for calculating direct normal and diffuse horizontal spectral solar irradiance for cloudless sky conditions was described. But the model was developed using rigorous radiative transfer codes and limited outdoor measurements.

The solar radiation between 3300 and 12500 Å

Heinz Neckel, +1 more
- 01 Feb 1984 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a merging of the absolute integrals of the disk-center intensity for 20 A wide spectral bands and the ratios of mean to central intensity derived from recent observations of the center-to-limb variation of those bands (λ 6600 A).

Parameterized transmittance model for direct beam and circumsolar spectral irradiance

Christian A. Gueymard
- 01 Nov 2001 -
TL;DR: In this article, an upgraded spectral radiation model called SMARTS2 (Simple Model of the Atmospheric Radiative Transfer of Sunshine) is introduced, based on spectral transmittance functions for the main extinction processes in the cloudless atmosphere: Rayleigh scattering, aerosol extinction, and absorption by ozone, uniformly mixed gases, water vapor, and nitrogen dioxide.
