TLDR
In this paper, an annular reactor packed with matrices in which the catalysts/enzyme/microorganisms are immobilized, has been simulated and the results indicate that the overall resistance and hence the conversion depend upon the Thiele modulus and another parameter, α.

Continuous esterification to produce biodiesel by SPES/PES/NWF composite catalytic membrane in flow-through membrane reactor: Experimental and kinetic studies

TL;DR: The results showed that the CCM structure had a significant effect on the acid conversion, and the conversions obtained from the model are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Dehydrogenation of propane using a packed-bed catalytic membrane reactor

TL;DR: In this article, a tubular H2-selective silica membrane was characterized and used as the gas-separative membrane in a high-temperature catalytic membrane reactor, and the membrane was filled with a chromia/alumina catalyst.

Factors controlling the performance of catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in palladium composite membrane reactors

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a membrane reactor is controlled both by the membrane permeability and the reaction kinetics, i.e., the reaction speed and the number of hydrogen molecules passing through the membrane.

Continuous in situ water activity control for organic phase biocatalysis in a packed bed hollow fiber reactor.

TL;DR: Packed bed hollow fiber membrane reactors were used to carry out organic phase biocatalysis at constant water activity and it was found possible to obtain complete esterification.

Experimental Evaluation of Dehydrogenations Using Catalytic Membrane Processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the performance of a hybrid membrane reactor with a traditional two-stage packed-bed membrane reactor for the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene.

Experimental and Modeling Study on a Packed-Bed Membrane Reactor for Partial Oxidation of Methane to Formaldehyde

TL;DR: In this article, a conventional fixed-bed reactor and a hybrid packed-bed membrane reactor were used to investigate the selective oxidation of methane to formaldehyde over a Mo−Co−B−O/SiO2 catalyst at atmospheric pressure.
