Phonons in aluminum at high temperatures studied by inelastic neutron scattering

TL;DR: Inelastic neutron scattering measurements on aluminum metal were performed at temperatures of 10, 150, 300, 525, and 775 K using direct-geometry Fermi chopper spectrometers as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The structure of liquid methanol by H/D substitution technique of neutron diffraction

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used ND measurements on liquid methanol (CD3OD,CD3O(H/D),CD3OH) under ambient conditions to obtain the total (intra-intermolecular), Gdist(r) and intermallecular, Ginter(r)- radial distribution functions (rdfs) for the three samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Patterns in Mie scattering

TL;DR: In this article, the Mie scattered intensity for an arbitrary sphere of radius R and refractive index m is plotted versus the dimensionless parameter qR, where q=4πλ−1sin(θ/2) is the scattering wavevector at scattering angle θ for wavelength λ.
Journal ArticleDOI

Broadband depolarized light scattering study of diluted protein aqueous solutions.

TL;DR: A broadband depolarized light scattering study on diluted lysozyme aqueous solutions shows that the proposed approach represents a suitable tool for investigating the hydration dynamics of protein-water solutions and evidences the existence of two distinct relaxational processes at picosecond time scales.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fullerenes and fullerides in the solid state: Neutron scattering studies

TL;DR: In this article, the phonon spectra of pristine fullerene, superconducting K 3 C 60 and saturation-doped Rb 6 C 60 measured by inelastic neutron scattering in the energy range 20-2000 cm −1, reveal substantial broadening of fivefold degenerate H g intramolecular vibrational modes both in the lowenergy radial and the high-energy tangential part of the spectrum.
