Field study on adaptive comfort in air conditioned dormitories of university with hot-humid climate in summer

TL;DR: In this paper, a field survey was carried out in air conditioned dormitories in Changsha, a big city in south-central China in summer, and the obtained results indicated that the experience of long-time living in regions with hot-humid climate in summer enhanced subjects' adaptability to higher temperature, which can be explained by psychological and behavioral processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of winter indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort between regions in Europe, North America, and Asia

TL;DR: In this article, a comparison between South Europe, North America and Asia on winter indoor thermal environments, occupants' clothing insulations and their thermal sensations was conducted, and it was observed that the indoor operative temperature and relative humidity varied from regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outdoor thermal comfort and adaptive behaviors in a university campus in China's hot summer-cold winter climate region

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted field measurement and questionnaire survey in a university campus in Mianyang, located in the hot summer and cold winter climate zone according to China's climate classification for building design and the dry-winter subtropical climate according to the Koppen climate classification.
