Tris(acetonitrile)tricarbonylchromium(0) catalyzed 1,4-addition of hydrogen to 1,3-dienes
TLDR
The Cr(CO) 3 (CH 3 CN) 3 complex is found to catalyze the 1,4 addition of hydrogen to 1,3-dienes such as 2-methyl-1, 3-butadiene, trans -1,3 pentadiene and trans, trans -2,4-hexadiene at low temperature (40°) and low H 2 pressure (20 psi) as discussed by the authors.About:

Hydrogenation Reactions Catalyzed by Transition Metal Complexes
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the hydrogenation reactions catalyzed by transition metal complexes, with the aim of developing catalysts for selective hydrogenation under mild conditions, and demonstrate the degree of understanding that can be attained for a homogeneous hydrogenation catalyst at the molecular level.

Mechanistic Pathways for Ligand Substitution Processes in Metal Carbonyls
TL;DR: In this paper, Langford and Gray have classified the three possible intimate mechanisms for ligand substitution processes as dissociative, associative, and interchange, and the associative mechanism involves addition of incoming ligand to the complex in the first step affording an intermediate of increased coordination number.
