Uplink Scheduling with Quality of Service in IEEE 802.16 Networks

TLDR
Simulation results show that the proposed scheduling discipline for uplink traffic is capable to provide quality of service (QoS) and shares fairly the resources among connections of the same service type.

IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan Area Networks Part 16: Air Interface for Fixed Broadband Wireless Access Systems Draft Amendment: Management Information Base Extensions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide updates to IEEE 802.16's MIB for the MAC, PHY and asso-ciated management procedures in order to accommodate recent extensions to the standard.

Fairness and QoS guarantees of WiMAX OFDMA scheduling with fuzzy controls

TL;DR: A fairness and QoS guaranteed scheduling approach with fuzzy controls (FQFCs) is proposed for WiMAX OFDMA systems that fairly guarantees delay, throughput, and jitter, which are seldom achieved at the same time by state-of-the-art solutions.

WiMAX Module for the ns-2 Simulator

TL;DR: The design and validation of an WiMAX module based on the IEEE 802.16 standard, which was implemented, includes mechanisms for bandwidth request and allocation, as well as for QoS provision.

An improved IEEE 802.16 WiMAX module for the ns-3 simulator

TL;DR: A realistic and scalable physical model, an IP packet classifier for the convergence sub-layer, efficient uplink and downlink schedulers, support for multicast traffic and pcap packet tracing functionality are integrated within the ns-3 WiMAX module.

An Integrated Uplink Scheduler in IEEE 802.16

TL;DR: A modified version of the DRR algorithm, designed to serve different types of service flows in the uplink, which guarantees lower latencies is proposed, and the performance of this schema with deficit round robin is compared using the OPNET WIMAX model.

A model for generating on-off speech patterns in two-way conversation

TL;DR: A model that generates on-off speech patterns representative of those in experimental two-way telephone conversations that yields good fits to all events except “speech before interruption;” when an interruption occurs, a model speaker tends to interrupt the other's talkspurt later than a real speaker does.

Changes in Web client access patterns: Characteristics and caching implications

TL;DR: This study compares two measurements of Web client workloads separated in time by three years, both captured from the same computing facility at Boston University and finds that for the computing facility represented by traces between 1995 and 1998, the benefits of using size‐based caching policies have diminished and the potential for caching requested files in the network has declined.

Network performance evaluation using frame size and quality traces of single-layer and two-layer video: A tutorial

TL;DR: This tutorial gives an introduction to the use of video traces in networking studies, and outlines a procedure for generating video load for network simulations from the traces, and discusses how to meaningfully analyze the outcomes of these simulations.

A service flow management strategy for IEEE 802.16 broadband wireless access systems in TDD mode

TL;DR: Simulation results show the proposed architecture can meet the QoS requirement in terms of bandwidth and fairness for all types of traffic.
