Using AHP for resource allocation problems

Reads0

TLDR
AHP has been used for solving multi-criteria resource allocation problems by converting them into equivalent single objective, maximization-type LP problems as mentioned in this paper, and at least two approaches can be identified for such applications.

Optimal Site Selection of Watershed Hydrological Monitoring Stations Using Remote Sensing and Grey Integer Programming

TL;DR: In this paper, a site screening and sequencing procedure was developed to address the optimal site selection strategy by integrating satellite remote sensing images with a grey integer programming (GIP) model, and seven locations out of 563 candidate sites were eventually selected and confirmed by a field investigation.

Evaluating the Core Capabilities for Strategic Outsourcing Decisions at Aviation Maintenance Industry

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the core competencies of the aviation maintenance centers for strategic outsourcing and found that machining and composite technologies are core competence logistics parts for these aviation maintenance centres.

Implications of Decentralised Energy Planning for Rural India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a mathematical model for the effective utilization of renewable energy sources in a developing country like India, where the main aspect of the energy planning at a decentralised level would be to prepare an area-based DEP to meet energy needs and development of alternate energy sources at least cost to the economy and environment.

An order acceptance using FAHP and TOPSIS methods: A case study of Iranian vehicle belt production industry

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model is proposed for accept or reject of orders according to calculated prioritises and production constraints, and the optimum list of orders for acceptance is determined.

Management decision making by the analytic hierarchy process: A proposed modification for large-scale problems

TL;DR: The present empirical study attempts to investigate the possibility of eliminating insignificant criteria in order to reduce AHP computational time and confirms that criteria that carry comparatively lesser weights can be excluded from the hierarchy and thereby the total time required for making the pairwise comparisons can be reduced drastically.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process

TL;DR: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as mentioned in this paper is a systematic procedure for representing the elements of any problem hierarchically, which organizes the basic rationality by breaking down a problem into its smaller constituent parts and then guides decision makers through a series of pairwise comparison judgments to express the relative strength or intensity of impact of the elements in the hierarchy.

Decisions with Multiple Objectives: Preferences and Value Trade-Offs

TL;DR: In this article, a confused decision maker, who wishes to make a reasonable and responsible choice among alternatives, can systematically probe his true feelings in order to make those critically important, vexing trade-offs between incommensurable objectives.

Multi-Objective Decision Analysis with Engineering and Business Applications

TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-modelling architecture suitable for multiobjective analysis of the decision-Making process and some of the strategies used in this process have been developed.

An extension of the analytic hierarchy process for industrial R&D project selection and resource allocation

TL;DR: In this article, an extension of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for priority setting and resource allocation in the industrial R&D environment is explored, and an AHP modeling framework is developed, and is linked to a spreadsheet model to assist in the ranking of a large number of project alternatives.
