Using AHP for resource allocation problems

TLDR
AHP has been used for solving multi-criteria resource allocation problems by converting them into equivalent single objective, maximization-type LP problems as mentioned in this paper, and at least two approaches can be identified for such applications.

Energy resource allocation incorporating qualitative and quantitative criteria: An integrated model using goal programming and AHP

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated model using goal programming and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been developed for energy resource allocation, which incorporates nine quantitative and three qualitative criteria.

Comparison of Different Multi Criteria Decision-Making Models in Prioritizing Flood Management Alternatives

TL;DR: In this paper, a practical framework to prioritize the flood risk management alternatives for Gorganrood River in Iran was applied, and a comparison between multi criteria decision making (MCDM) models with different computational mechanisms provided an opportunity to obtain the most conclusive model.

Application of multicriteria decision methods for electric supply planning in rural and remote areas

TL;DR: In this paper, the combined application of two multi-criteria decision-making methods, namely, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Compromise Ranking method (VIKOR), is proposed to facilitate the selection of the best solution for electrical supply of remote rural locations, involving technical, economic, environmental and social criteria.

Selection of mobile value-added services for system operators using fuzzy synthetic evaluation

TL;DR: This method can help consumers select the appropriate firm from the other consumers' opinions, and can help telecom operators to understand the market status of mobile value-added services as well as the prevailing consumer patterns.

Multicriteria Methods for Technology Foresight

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the potential of multicriteria decision-making methods in this kind of priority-determination and examine the limitations of these methods in the foresight context.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process

TL;DR: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as mentioned in this paper is a systematic procedure for representing the elements of any problem hierarchically, which organizes the basic rationality by breaking down a problem into its smaller constituent parts and then guides decision makers through a series of pairwise comparison judgments to express the relative strength or intensity of impact of the elements in the hierarchy.

Decisions with Multiple Objectives: Preferences and Value Trade-Offs

TL;DR: In this article, a confused decision maker, who wishes to make a reasonable and responsible choice among alternatives, can systematically probe his true feelings in order to make those critically important, vexing trade-offs between incommensurable objectives.

An extension of the analytic hierarchy process for industrial R&D project selection and resource allocation

TL;DR: In this article, an extension of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for priority setting and resource allocation in the industrial R&D environment is explored, and an AHP modeling framework is developed, and is linked to a spreadsheet model to assist in the ranking of a large number of project alternatives.
