Vaginal delivery versus caesarean section in preterm breech delivery: a systematic review

TLDR
A systematic review and meta-analysis of non-randomized studies that assessed the association between mode of delivery and neonatal mortality in women with preterm breech presentation concludes that cohort studies indicate that CS reduces Neonatal mortality as compared to VD.

Delivery mode and intraventricular hemorrhage risk in very-low-birth-weight infants: Observational data of the German Neonatal Network.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that elective cesarean section is associated with a reduced risk of IVH in preterm infants <30 weeks gestational age when presenting with preterm labor.

What is the safest mode of birth for extremely preterm breech singleton infants who are actively resuscitated? A systematic review and meta-analyses

TL;DR: The safest delivery mode of extremely preterm breech singletons is unknown and the cause of birth defects is unknown.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mode of delivery and pregnancy outcomes in preterm birth: a secondary analysis of the WHO Global and Multi-country Surveys.

TL;DR: Compared with VB, CS was associated with significantly increased odds of maternal intensive care unit admission, maternal near miss, and neonatal intensive Care unit admission but significantly decreased odds of fresh stillbirth, and perinatal death.

Planned caesarean section versus planned vaginal birth for breech presentation at term: a randomised multicentre trial

TL;DR: In this article, the authors did a randomised trial to compare a policy of planned caesarean section with a plan of planned vaginal birth for selected breech-presentation pregnancies.

The frequency of breech presentation by gestational age at birth: A large population-based study

TL;DR: From a study of birth records, breech presentation at delivery for each gestational age was found to be less frequent as compared with other reports about antenatal ultrasonographic examination.

Planned caesarean section for term breech delivery

TL;DR: The numbers studied were too small to satisfactorily address reductions in birth trauma and brachial plexus injury with planned caesarean section, and there were no differences in the combined outcome 'death or neurodevelopmental delay' at two years.
