Video-based image control system

TLDR
In this paper, a method of using stereo vision to interface with a computer is described, which includes capturing a stereo image, processing the stereo image to determine position information of an object in the stereo images, and communicating the position information to the computer.
Abstract
A method of using stereo vision to interface with a computer is provided. The method includes capturing a stereo image, and processing the stereo image to determine position information of an object in the stereo image. The object is controlled by a user. The method also includes communicating the position information to the computer to allow the user to interact with a computer application.

Gesture recognition system using depth perceptive sensors

TL;DR: In this article, three-dimensional position information is used to identify the gesture created by a body part of interest, based on the shape of the body part and its position and orientation.

Interactive video display system

Matthew Bell
TL;DR: An interactive video display system as mentioned in this paper is a system where a camera is used to detect an object in an interactive area located in front of the display screen, the camera operable to capture three-dimensional information about the object.

Sign based human-machine interaction

TL;DR: Sign-understanding technology can be used for remote control of home devices, mouse-less operation of computer consoles, gaming, and man-robot communication to give instructions among others.

Depth mapping using projected patterns

TL;DR: In this article, a light source transilluminates the single transparency with optical radiation so as to project the pattern onto the object, and a processor processes the image captured by the image capture assembly to reconstruct a 3D map of the object.

A flexible new technique for camera calibration

TL;DR: A flexible technique to easily calibrate a camera that only requires the camera to observe a planar pattern shown at a few (at least two) different orientations is proposed and advances 3D computer vision one more step from laboratory environments to real world use.

Method and apparatus for integrating manual input

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple proximity transduction circuit is placed under each electrode to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce wiring complexity, and segmentation processing of each proximity image constructs a group of electrodes corresponding to each distinguishable contacts and extracts shape, position and surface proximity features for each group.

A multiple-baseline stereo

TL;DR: It is shown that the SSSD-in-inverse-distance function exhibits a unique and clear minimum at the correct matching position, even when the underlying intensity patterns of the scene include ambiguities or repetitive patterns.
