TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the mechanism of localized inertial wave excitation and its efficiency for an annular cavity rotating with. Meridional symmetry is broken by replacing the inner cylinder with a truncated cone (frustum). Waves are excited by individual longitudinal libration of the walls.

On some fundamental flaws in present aeroacoustic theory
TL;DR: A critical analysis of the main theoretical approaches to the theory of aerodynamic sound is presented for the case of inviscid gas flow, and shows that in all these the definitions of aerodynamics sound sources are featured by evident defects, and so these models cannot be adopted as physically or mathematically accurate.

Alongshore currents over variable beach topography
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the nonlinear dynamics of unstable alongshore currents in the nearshore surf zone over variable barred beach topography using numerical experiments and found that the effects of spatially variable forcing and the dynamic influence of topography on time-averaged currents were comparable with the relative importance of each effect a function of ΔQ.

Inertial waves and modes excited by the libration of a rotating cube
TL;DR: Maas et al. as mentioned in this paper reported experimental measurements of the flow in a cubic container submitted to a longitudinal libration, i.e., a rotation modulated in time, and measured velocity fields in a vertical and a horizontal plane using a corotating particle image velocimetry system.
