TL;DR: The treatment here is an improvement over the analysis by Birdsall et al.
Abstract: When terminals (data and/or voice), connected to an asynchronous time division multiplexer (ATDM), are buffered and operate at low speed, the arrivals at the multiplexer are correlated. In this paper, we consider the finite buffer behavior of an ATDM with such terminals. An earlier study by Rudin [6] is a special case of this approach. The treatment here is also an improvement over the analysis by Birdsall et al. [1] of an ATDM with speech sources and is suitable for packet voice applications.

TL;DR: In this paper, a time division switching system having distributed control processors is described, where the distributed processors exchange control messages and cooperate in the completion of talking paths between subscribers, and each control message includes an address portion defining the destination for the control message and is transmitted to a time-shared space division switch on the same time multiplex lines that speech representations are transmitted.
Abstract: TIME DIVISION SWITCHING SYSTEM CONTROL ARRANGEMENT Abstract A time division switching system having distributed control processors is disclosed. The distributed processors exchange control messages and cooperate in the completion of talking paths between subscribers. Each control message includes an address portion defining the destination for the control message and is transmitted to a time-shared space division switch on the same time multiplex lines that speech representations are transmitted. Control messages are routed by the time-shared space division switch to a control distribution unit where the address portion is interpreted. When the address portion defines a distributed processor which controls the time-shared space division switch, the control distribution unit transmits the associated control message directly to that processor. Alternatively, when the address portion defines one of the other distributed processors, the control distribution unit transmits the associated control message to the defined processor via the time-shared space division switch. The switching system also includes arrangements for utilizing the control message communication features in the completion of communication paths between subscribers.

TL;DR: An algorithm is given to discretize a polygon or curved surface into triangular arrays into quadrilaterals with specified numbers on rows and columns.
Abstract: An algorithm is given to discretize a polygon or curved surface into triangular arrays. The method first involves the manual division of the array into quadrilaterals with specified numbers on rows and columns. The individual points are then filled in automatically and elements are automatically generated. A point of particular importance is that the number of columns or rows may be made to change. A subroutine is given to perform this task.

TL;DR: In this article, an electronic network division system is operated responsive to signals representing divisors and dividends, where an input divisor signal is divided into a given number of integers, the number (N) being selected on a basis of a desired accuracy index.
Abstract: An electronic network division system is operated responsive to signals representing divisors and dividends. An input divisor signal is divided into a given number (N) of integers, the number (N) being selected on a basis of a desired accuracy index. Each divided signal is a transform of a divisor which is read from one of (N) number of read-only memories, there being a separate read-only memory for each of the given number (N) of integers. Each of said given number of transformed divisor signals is separately multiplied by a dividend signal to produce (N) number of multiplication products. Each of these multiplication product signals is divided into high and low subproduct signals and applied to a corresponding one of (N) number of adders. A high subproduct signal from one multiplication product is added in the adding means to a low subproduct signal from another multiplication product.

Abstract: The dynamic programming algorithm is examined with a view to solving it on a multiprocessor cluster. The two methods of control-space division and state-space division are proposed, and their efficiency is analysed in detail. A practical example is given to illustrate the two methods using a two-processor system, and the results are projected to find the minimum achievable time and optimum number of processors for this example.

TL;DR: In this article, a synchronous oscillator is provided to divide the frequency of an input signal by a non-integer number, the noninteger number being expressed as the ratio of two whole integers X/Y.
Abstract: A synchronous oscillator is provided to divide the frequency of an input signal by a noninteger number, the noninteger number being expressed as the ratio of two whole integers X/Y. The oscillator is tuned to the desired output frequency, whereby every Yth cycle of the output signal is synchronized by every Xth cycle of the input signal at the negative (and possibly positive) peak of the output signal, thereby effecting a simultaneous multiplication and division of the input frequency of Y and X respectively. A pulse forming network provides the input signal in the form of pulses, whereby synchronization is effected at precise points in time. Pulse width and amplitude are adjustable to vary the input signal energy.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the number of transmission pathes with reducing the traffic intensity applied to digital transmission pathes by storing multiplexing voice signals from the incoming side and outgoing side into a time division switch and folding and connecting local call through this switch. CONSTITUTION:Subscriber's telephone sets 21 and 22 have remote stations which are line-concentrated by space time division switch 23, and this remote station is connected to the master station through digital transmission path 26. Here, time division swtich 30 is provided between switch 23 and transmission path 26, and switch 30 stores multiplexing voice signals from coder and decoder 24 and interface circuit 25 in the incoming side as well as the outgoing side, and local call can be folded and connected through switch 30. As a result, since local call passes through no channel of the master station, the traffic intensity applied to the digital transmission path is reduced, and the number of digital transmission pathes can be reduced.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a method comprising disposing a tuning type coupling coil on a traveling body traveling on a constant traveling road thereby to improve the reliability and stabilize the cost.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject method comprising disposing a tuning type coupling coil on a traveling body traveling on a constant traveling road thereby to improve the reliability and stabilize the cost. CONSTITUTION:In an area determined along the traveling road there are laid a cross type parallel two-line system induction line 1 and a non-cross type parallel two-line system induction line 2, and a terminal resistor 3, couplers 5 and 6, and a position detector 7 are connected thereto, and tuning type coupling coils 4 and 4' are placed at a predetermined distance L2 in the traveling direction on the traveling body C0. As a result, when the tuning type coupling coil 4 or 4' not present in a division A or B, the signal output of induction line 2-coupler 6 is retained on the zero level, when the traveling body C0 travels in the right or left direction and the coil 4 or 4' advances in the division A or B, a signal wave from the induction line 1 is induction-coupled via the coil 4 or 4' to the induction line 2, the coupling input of the induction line 2 being phase-inversed in the division A and the division B in accordance with the phase inversion from the induction line 1 in the border of the crossing part, and supplied as input through a coupler 6 to a position detector 7. Hence, the position of the traveling body C0 is detected at high accuracy without providing a power source at the traveling body C0 side.
