TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D coupled electromagnetic and thermal model was developed for analysis of microwave heating process, where the electromagnetic computation was performed with 3D edge elements and the heat conduction equation was solved with 3-D nodal elements.
Abstract: A 3-D coupled electromagnetic and thermal model has been developed for analysis of microwave heating process. The electromagnetic computation is performed with 3-D edge elements. This technique leads to an accurate deterministic study of the electromagnetic field distribution in excited junctions containing lossy dielectrics. The heat conduction equation is solved with 3-D nodal elements. The temperature dependance of the electromagnetic and heat process parameters is considered in computations. Examples are provided to validate the method. >

TL;DR: In this paper, an extinction ratio better than -20 dB was achieved for a Bi-YIG triple-layer structure with a single-crystal iron-cobalt layer.
Abstract: In a polarization rotator device, a thin-film magneto-optic medium (2) is magnetized by a thin-film magnet (4). To serve as an optical isolator, the device may include polarizers (51, 52). In such an optical isolator, in which the magneto-optic medium (2) was formed as a Bi-YIG triple-layer structure, and the thin-film magnet (4) as a single-crystal iron-cobalt layer, an extinction ratio better than -20 dB was realized.

TL;DR: In this article, the critical current density of stripe-structured thin films is determined based on a theory for flux penetration in superconducting thin films using magneto-optical EuS/EuF 2 and iron garnet indicators.
Abstract: Direct observation and measurement of the spatial flux density distribution on the surface of Y 1 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7- x superconducting thin films under application of an external magnetic field are performed using magneto-optical EuS/EuF 2 and iron-garnet indicators. A new, very accurate method to determine the critical current density of stripe-structured thin films is presented, based on a recent theory for flux penetration in superconducting thin films.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a protection circuit for short-circuiting between pairs of electrodes when current more than a specified value is impressed to the pair of electrodes, which can prevent the generation of damages to the magneto-resistance effect type head.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of damages to the magneto-resistance effect type head by providing a protection circuit for short-circuiting between a pair of electrodes when current more than a specified value is impressed to the pair of electrodes CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 110 are mutually linked at the rear parts of the electrodes 110 via a Schottky diode 100 and a metal line 120 This diode 100 is a protection circuit in which no electricity is conducted when a specified driving power of a magneto-resistance effect type head 40 is applied For example, current value of about 24mA and voltage of about 200mV are applied and when a voltage more than 300mV is instantaneously impressed, electricity is connected and the interval between the electrodes 110 is short-circuited No electricity is conducted in the head 40 constituted like this by a normal driving power and when excess current generated by charge and static electricity through human intervention during an inspection process, etc, is given, electricity is conducted in the diode 100, the rear end part of the electrode is short-circuited and thus, the impression of the excess current to a magneto- resistance effect element 85 is prevented Thus, damages to the element 85 is prevented by the short-circuiting between the electrode 110

TL;DR: In this article, a polarized light separating film is formed on the incident surface S1 of a compound image prism 11 which has the incident and exit surface approximately parallel with each other and is formed by joining at least two pieces of crystalline.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the magneto-optical head which is small in size and is inexpensive by eliminating the need for a polarization beam splitter and lens system for generation of astigmatism heretofore required by the conventional magneto-optical heads. CONSTITUTION:A polarized light separating film is formed on the incident surface S1 of a compound image prism 11 which has the incident surface and exit surface approximately parallel with each other and is formed by joining at least two pieces of crystalline. This compound image prism 11 is arranged in a luminous flux formed by converging the reflected light from the magneto- optical disk and its incident surface is arranged by inclining the surface with the optical axis of the convergent light. Focusing error detection is executed by an astigmatism method and tracking error detection by a push pull method.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose to reduce the size of the magneto-resistance element driving circuit and to reduce electric power consumption by connecting a switch to serially connected magneto resistance elements.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the magneto-resistance element driving circuit and to reduce electric power consumption by connecting a switch to serially connected magneto resistance elements. CONSTITUTION:Magneto-resistance elements 1a and 1b whose internal resistance are changed by the change of an outside magnetic field and a current setting resistor 2 for setting current flowing to the magneto-resistance elements are serially connected. Control switches 6a and 6b are connected to the magneto- resistance elements 1a and 1b in parallel. The outputs of the magneto-resistance elements 1a and 1b are taken out by transmission switches 7a and 7b respectively and inputted to a head amplifier 3 through capacitors 8a and 8b. The changes of the internal resistances of the magneto-resistance elements 1a and 1b are converted into voltage changes, respectively and amplified. The control switches 6a and 6b and the transmission switchs 7a and 7b are controlled by a controlling section 9 and thus, current is allowed to flow to the desired magneto-resistance element and the output is taken out.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To embody an internal combustion engine igniter which able to secure a reference signal necessary for control by means of a computer without using any signal generator. CONSTITUTION:This igniter is provided with a magneto coil 4 in a magneto AC generator attached to an internal combustion engine and a reference signal generator circuit 13 detecting a zero point or peak point of output voltage in the magneto coil 4 and generating a reference signal. This circuit 13 is formable with a waveform converter circuit for getting a rectangular wave signal whose rising or falling is accorded with the zero point or peak point of the output voltage in the magneto coil 4. In this case, the rising or falling of the rectangular wave signal outputted by the reference signal generator circuit 13 is used as the reference signal.
