Detection of a QPO in five XMM–Newton observations of RE J1034+396
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the power spectral density (PSD) of 8 archival XMM-Newton observations of RE J1034+396, and search for the presence of QPOs in three energy bands: soft (0.3-0.8 keV), hard (1.0-4.0 keV) and total ( 0.2-10 keV).
Journal Article
Simultaneous multifrequency observations of the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 4051 - Constant optical-infrared emission observed during large-amplitude X-ray variability
Chris Done,Martin Ward,A. C. Fabian,Hideyo Kunieda,Sachiko Tsuruta,Andy Lawrence,Malcolm G. Smith,W. Wamsteker +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, simultaneous infrared, optical, ultraviolet, and X-ray observations of the low-luminosity Seyfert 1 galaxy, NGC 4051, were reported, and a new method of reduction was developed to correct the optical flux for atmospheric variations due to seeing and extinction.
Journal ArticleDOI
ASCA and ROSAT observations of NGC 5548: discrepant spectral indices
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on simultaneous ASCA and ROSAT observations of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 5548 made during the ASCA Performance Verification phase, and they find that the continuum spectral shape differs between the ASCAs and ROSats data sets.
Journal ArticleDOI
CHEERS: The chemical evolution RGS sample
J. de Plaa,Jelle Kaastra,Jelle Kaastra,Norbert Werner,Norbert Werner,Norbert Werner,Ciro Pinto,P. Kosec,P. Kosec,Y. Y. Zhang,François Mernier,François Mernier,Lorenzo Lovisari,Lorenzo Lovisari,Hiroki Akamatsu,G. Schellenberger,G. Schellenberger,F. Hofmann,Thomas H. Reiprich,Alexis Finoguenov,Jussi Ahoranta,Jeremy S. Sanders,A. C. Fabian,Onno R. Pols,Aurora Simionescu,Jacco Vink,Hans Böhringer +26 more
TL;DR: The CHEmical Enrichment RGS Sample (CHEERS) as mentioned in this paper is a sample of 44 bright local giant elliptical, groups, and clusters of galaxies observed with XMM-Newton.
Journal ArticleDOI
The blazar GB 1428+4217: a warm absorber at z=4.72?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the correlation between increasing soft X-ray flattening and increasing z, which was previously pointed out for large samples of radio-loud quasars.
