Searching for the missing iron mass in the core of the Centaurus cluster

TL;DR: In this article, the authors re-analyse a combined 198 ks Chandra observation of NGC4696, the brightest galaxy of the Centaurus cluster, and extract temperature and metallicity profiles from the data, and confirm the presence of a sharp drop in iron abundance within the central 5 kpc of the cluster.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray observations of the Ophiuchus, PKS 0745–191 and Cygnus-A clusters of galaxies

TL;DR: In this paper, the X-ray emission from three bright clusters of galaxies at low Galactic latitudes: the Ophiuchus, PKS 0745-191, and Cygnus-A clusters is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

A 78 Day X-ray Period Detected from NGC 5907 ULX1 by Swift

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the detection of a $78.1\pm 0.5$ day period in the X-ray lightcurve of the extreme ultraluminous Xray source NGC 5907 ULX1 during an extensive monitoring program with Swift.
Journal ArticleDOI

A hot intergalactic medium

TL;DR: In this article, a de nouveau examine l'hypothese d'un milieu intergalactique chaud produisant le fond RX 5-200 keV, en tenant compte des corrections relativistes for l'emissivite du gaz, la thermodynamique et la diffusion Compton
Journal ArticleDOI

I Zw 1 observed with XMM-Newton. Low-energy spectral complexity, iron lines, and hard X-ray flares

TL;DR: In this article, a 20 ks XMM-Newton observation of the prototypical Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxy I Zw 1 was presented, where the best-fit model to the data is a double blackbody plus a dominant power-law, on which complex soft absorption (possibly a blended edge or absorption lines) and/or OVII emission are superimposed, as well as strong Fe Kα emission.
