Journal ArticleDOI
Time of Onset of Non-Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus and Genetic Variation in the β3-Adrenergic–Receptor Gene
Jeremy D. Walston,Kristi D. Silver,Clifton Bogardus,William C. Knowler,Francesco S. Celi,Sharon Austin,B. S. J. Manning,A. Donny Strosberg,Michael P. Stern,Nina Raben,John D. Sorkin,Jesse Roth,Alan R. Shuldiner +12 more
TL;DR: Pima subjects homozygous for the Trp64Arg beta 3-adrenergic-receptor mutation have an earlier onset of NIDDM and tend to have a lower resting metabolic rate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trans-inactivation of Receptor Tyrosine Kinases by Novel Angiotensin II AT2 Receptor-interacting Protein, ATIP *
S. Nouet,Nathalie Amzallag,Jian-Mei Li,Simon N S Louis,Isabell Seitz,Taixing Cui,Anne-Marie Alleaume,Mélanie Di Benedetto,Christine Boden,Maryline Masson,A. Donny Strosberg,Masatsugu Horiuchi,Pierre-Olivier Couraud,Clara Nahmias +13 more
TL;DR: The molecular cloning of a novel protein, ATIP1 (AT2-interacting protein), which interacts with the C-terminal tail of the AT2 receptor, but not with those of other receptors such as angiotensin AT1, bradykinin BK2, and adrenergic β2 receptor is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete amino acid sequence and maturation of the mouse submaxillary gland renin precursor.
Jean-Jacques Panthier,Simon Foote,Béatrice Chambraud,A. Donny Strosberg,Pierre Corvol,François Rougeon +5 more
TL;DR: N-terminal sequence analysis of renin reveals that the precursor is converted by a protein cleavage into active renin consisting of two chains of Mr 35,000 and 3,000, and comparison with other known acid proteases shows a good alignment of renIn and acid protease sequences in the neighbourhood of residues involved in the active site.
Journal ArticleDOI
Function and regulation of the β3-adrenoceptor
TL;DR: Strosberg and Pietri-Rouxel as discussed by the authors described how results now provide a consistent picture of an important role for the human beta 3-adrenoceptor in the regulation of lipid metabolism and as an obvious target for drugs to treat some forms of obesity and diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential signaling of human Mel1a and Mel1b melatonin receptors through the cyclic guanosine 3′-5′-monophosphate pathway
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that mammalian melatonin receptors modulate cGMP levels and revealed for the first time differences in signaling between melatonin receptor sub types, which may explain the necessity to express different receptor subtypes.
