Journal ArticleDOI
Motor cortical encoding of serial order in a context-recall task.
TL;DR: The neural encoding of serial order was studied in the motor cortex of monkeys performing a context-recall memory scanning task and it was found that changes in neural activity during the list presentation phase reflected the serial order of the stimuli.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intractable vomiting as the initial presentation of neuromyelitis optica
Metha Apiwattanakul,Bogdan F. Gh. Popescu,Marcelo Matiello,Brian G. Weinshenker,Claudia F. Lucchinetti,Vanda A. Lennon,Andrew McKeon,Adam F. Carpenter,Gary M. Miller,Sean J. Pittock +9 more
TL;DR: Clinical, pathologic and neuroimaging observations suggest the aquaporin‐4–rich area postrema may be a first point of attack in neuromyelitis optica.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synchronous neural interactions assessed by magnetoencephalography: a functional biomarker for brain disorders
Apostolos P. Georgopoulos,Elissaios Karageorgiou,Elissaios Karageorgiou,Arthur C. Leuthold,Arthur C. Leuthold,Scott M. Lewis,Scott M. Lewis,Joshua Lynch,Joshua Lynch,Aurelio A. Alonso,Aurelio A. Sponheim,Scott R. Sponheim,Scott R. Sponheim,John J. Stanwyck,Massoud Stephane,Massoud Stephane,Joseph Westermeyer,Joseph Westermeyer +39 more
TL;DR: The essence of the test is the measurement of the dynamic synchronous neural interactions, an essential aspect of the brain function, and it is found that subsets of z(ij)(0) successfully classified individual subjects to their respective groups and gave excellent external cross-validation results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human placenta-derived cells (PDA-001) for the treatment of adults with multiple sclerosis: A randomized, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose study $
Fred D. Lublin,James D. Bowen,John Huddlestone,Marcelo Kremenchutzky,Adam F. Carpenter,John R. Corboy,Mark S. Freedman,Lauren B. Krupp,Corri Paulo,Robert J. Hariri,Steven Fischkoff +10 more
TL;DR: PDA-001 infusions were safe and well tolerated in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and secondary progressive multiple sclerosis patients and no paradoxical worsening of lesion counts was noted with either dose.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coding of movements in the motor cortex
TL;DR: This work has shown that the successful decoding of movement information from the activity of motor cortical cells using their directional tuning and population coding has propelled successful neuroprosthetic applications and asserted the utility of those early discoveries, dating back to the early 1980s.
