Supervision is a powerful and important supportive mechanism to maximise the outcome of teaching practice. This paper aims to study the differences of teaching practice between Malaysia and Australia. Further, the differences of supervision practice between both countries is also been identified. The research methodology used for this study is library research on Malaysia and Australia teaching and supervision practices. Criteria of the supervision assessment that are implemented in Malaysia and Australia is compared to identify the gap between both countries on supervision practice. The purposes of teaching practice and supervision practice in both countries are discussed.

A comparative library review of teaching practice and supervision practice between Malaysia and Australia

Microalgae are well known as autotrophic microorganisms in aquaculture wastewater treatment, however their role in the aquaculture system is rarely explored. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of adding microalgae, Chlorella sp. UMT LF2, on the functionality for bioremediation and growth performance of Whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei in the nursery phase reared in a control culture system. Secondly, the response surface methodology (RSM) was used to investigate further on the optimal condition for the harvesting process of excess microalgae biomass using bio-flocculant from the filamentous fungus, Aspergillus niger. The experimental set-up with Chlorella sp. additions were compared to the control group without the microalgae addition based on the water quality, microalgae biomass and shrimp growth performance. Water samples were collected and underwent in-situ and ex-situ involving nine physicochemical parameters. The results showed that introducing microalgae with zero water exchange as treatment tanks reduced the NH3, NO2− and PO43− during the intermediate until the two days before the 30-day culture period's end. Microalgae also enhanced shrimp survival and growth performance significantly 89% as compared to the control, 68%. Furthermore, the culture with the addition of microalgae maintained pH stability and enhanced dissolved oxygen during daytime in the culture water. Therefore, this finding confirmed that Chlorella sp. UMT LF2 addition is promising in improving rearing environment and nursery performance for L. vannamei in culture system. However, further research is required to demonstrate the harvesting by-product from the culture system and the potential applications.

Cabaran kakitangan awam bagi memberikan perkhidmatan yang berkualiti sentiasa diberi keutamaan. Permintaan untuk mendapatkan perkhidmatan yang berkualiti oleh masyarakat awam belum benar-benar tercapai. Ini disebabkan tahap prestasi kerja kakitangan awam masih rendah. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti tahap prestasi pekerja kakitangan awam. Faktor kompetensi, integriti, disiplin kerja, motivasi kerja, ganjaran dan reka bentuk kerja menjadi elemenelemen dalam mengukur peningkatan prestasi pekerja. Seramai 2320 kakitangan awam menjadi populasi dalam kajian ini. Kaedah pensampelan rawak berkadar digunakan agar populasi boleh diwakili dengan kadar yang sama. Kaedah analisis Pemodelan Persamaan Berstruktur (SEM) digunakan bagi menganalisis dapatan. Hasil analisis statistik inferensi menunjukkan bahawa kompetensi, motivasi kerja dan reka bentuk kerja telah mempengaruhi secara signifikan prestasi pekerja. Tambahan pula, kearifan tempatan didapati menjadi moderator yang signifikan terhadap prestasi pekerja. Bagaimanapun integriti, disiplin kerja dan ganjaran adalah tidak signifikan ter hadap prestasi pekerja. Kesan Moderator Kearifan Tempatan dalam Mempertingkatkan Prestasi Pekerja di Indonesia (Moderating Effects of Local Wisdom in Improving Employee Performance in Indonesia)

Mental health problems become a pervasive yet under-detected and undertreated growing issues among Malaysian university students. Counseling Center Assessment of Psychological Symptoms (CCAPS) is an instrument that has been widely used in all universities and colleges in the United States, but it has not been practiced in Malaysia. The purpose of this preliminary study was to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the CCAPS into the Malay language and make it applicable as a screening tool for addressing mental health issues among university students. The translation and back-translation were used. A total sample of 252 university students from a public university was participated in this study. Results from exploratory factor analysis supported the original version of CCAPS-62, which was an eight-factor model. Findings provided preliminary evidence for adequate internal consistency with Cronbach's Alpha 0.946. Content validity was obtained from two experts and they endorsed the quality of the items with 0.97 content validity index. Implications are discussed to provide further information regarding the mental health issues and the CCAPS-62 Malay version as a screening tool for university counseling centers to address students’ mental health symptoms.

The Malay Version of CCAPS-62: A Preliminary Investigation of Translation, Validity, and Reliability

Adolescent who grow up under negative environmental are at greater risk of developing psychological and social problems. The aim of this systematic review paper is to provide an overview of the current state of the research concerning on the risk factor that lead adolescent involving in crime risk behavior. For that purpose, the ProQuest, Sage, Elsevier, Springer, Ebscohost, Wiley, and MyCite database were searched through December 2017. All the identified publication was screened by using previously develop inclusion criteria. The search yielded 11,503 articles. Thirty-four of these publications (2011±2017) met the criteria for inclusion in the present review. Information on the studies was extracted using an extraction form. The research identified social support, socioeconomic status, resilient, coping skills, depression, aggressive, empathy, truancy, academic achievement and involvement in school activity as factors that lead adolescent involve in crime risk behavior. Most of the included studies were conducted in the United States and employed a cross-sectional design. To develop effective prevention programs, further longitudinal studies and studies assessing the interactions between risk and protective factors are needed.
