Effect of a 6-month pedometer-based walking intervention on functional capacity in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced (HFrEF) and with preserved (HFpEF) ejection fraction: study protocol for two multicenter randomized controlled trials

TL;DR: These are the first studies to evaluate a pedometer-based walking intervention in patients with chronic heart failure with either reduced or preserved ejection fraction and will contribute to a better understanding of physical activity promotion in heart failure patients to inform future physical activity recommendations and heart failure guidelines.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of three office blood pressure measurement techniques and their effect on hypertension prevalence in the general population.

TL;DR: In epidemiological settings, a threshold of unattended AOBP at least 130/85 mmHg should make comparison of hypertension prevalence possible with studies using auscultatory techniques and cut-off values of 140/90 MMHg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of 344/T/C Aldosterone Synthase Polymorphism (CYP11B2) with Left Ventricular Structure and Humoral Parameters in Young Normotensive Men

TL;DR: It was found that the TT genotype of T‐344C polymorphism of aldosterone synthase gene was associated with significantly higher levels of PRA in normotensive men and higher values of the LVMI.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

TL;DR: No consensus currently exists with respect to the chronic management of TC, randomized clinical trials are urgently needed with focus on treatment strategies.
