Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of early worsening after switch to aripiprazole: a randomized, controlled, open-label study.
Chi-Un Pae,Chi-Un Pae,Alberto Chiesa,Laura Mandelli,Ashwin A. Patkar,Sara Gibiino,Alessandro Serretti +6 more
TL;DR: Patients with relatively mild illness severity might be more susceptible to early worsening of symptoms when switched to aripiprazole, and the present findings should be considered with caution and further research is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tyrosine hydroxylase polymorphism and phenotypic heterogeneity in bipolar affective disorder: a multicenter association study
Daniel Souery,Olivier Lipp,Sarah K. Rivelli,Isabelle Massat,Alessandro Serretti,C. Cavallini,Manfred Ackenheil,Rolf Adolfsson,H.N. Aschauer,Douglas Blackwood,Henrik Dam,D. Dikeos,S Fuchshuber,M. Heiden,Miro Jakovljević,Radka Kaneva,Lars Vedel Kessing,B. Lerer,Jouko Lönnqvist,T. Mellerup,V. Milanova,Walter J. Muir,P.-O. Nylander,Lilijana Oruc,George N. Papadimitriou,P. Pekkarinen,Leena Peltonen,C. Pull,Paul Raeymaekers,Baruch Shapira,Enrico Smeraldi,Luc Staner,Costas N. Stefanis,M. Verga,G Verheyen,Fabio Macciardi,C. Van Broeckhoven,Julien Mendlewicz +37 more
TL;DR: The results of this association study do not confirm the possible implication of TH polymorphism in the susceptibility to BPAD and genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity may partially explain the difficulty of confirming the exact role of this gene using both association and linkage methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Understanding the pharmacogenetics of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
TL;DR: The present review discusses both known and less replicated genes that have been implicated in selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) efficacy and side effects and proposes a pathway enrichment approach to the top genes in order to identify possible molecular mechanisms involved in SSRI effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Depression and social phobia secondary to alcohol dependence.
Paolo Olgiati,Ioannis Liappas,Petros Malitas,Christina Piperi,Antonis Politis,Elias Tzavellas,Aikaterini Zisaki,Barbara Ferrari,Diana De Ronchi,Anastasios Kalofoutis,Alessandro Serretti +10 more
TL;DR: Depression and social phobia secondary to ADD are independent conditions that do not completely remit after cessation of drinking and specific treatments are needed to reduce residual depressive and anxiety symptoms in abstinent alcoholics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 promoter -2518 polymorphism and schizophrenia in the Korean population.
Chi-Un Pae,K S Chung,Jung-Jin Kim,Hye-Sook Yu,Chang-Uk Lee,Soo-Jung Lee,Chul Won Lee,Tae-Youn Jun,Alessandro Serretti,In-Ho Paik +9 more
TL;DR: Genotype and allele distributions in patients with schizophrenia were not significantly different from those of the controls, however, distributions of genotypes and alleles were marginally different when considering subjects with positive and negative symptomatology.
