Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic aspects of phycobilisome structure: Modulation of phycocyanin content of Synechococcus phycobilisomes
TL;DR: Results indicate that modulation of phycobilisome size involves concurrent regulation of the levels ofphycocyanin and of both the 30 and 33 kdalton polypeptides with no change in the composition of the allophycOCyanin-containing core.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and Function of Allophycocyanin B of Porphyridium cruentum
TL;DR: In this paper, allophycocyanin B was purified to homogeneity from the eukaryotic red alga Porphyridium cruentum and obtained a long wavelength absorption maximum at 669 nm at room temperature and at 675 nm at −196 C while the fluorescence emission maximum is at 673 nm at the same temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular architecture of a light-harvesting antenna. Isolation and characterization of phycobilisome subassembly particles.
TL;DR: Based on the analysis of the components in fractions 1-3, a model is proposed which describes the structure of the AN112 phycobilisome, with emphasis on the roles of the linker polypeptides in the assembly of the core.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure-Function Relationships in Lysozyme by Circular Dichroism1
Journal ArticleDOI
Phycoerythrins as chemotaxonomic markers in red algae: A survey
TL;DR: Phycoerythrins do not appear to be useful at familial, ordinal and class levels in taxonomic studies, however, they do seem to be of limited value in discriminating taxonomic groupings at the generic and specific level.
