Journal ArticleDOI

PGC-1α promotes recovery after acute kidney injury during systemic inflammation in mice

TL;DR: It is shown that endotoxemia reduces oxygen delivery to the kidney, without changing tissue oxygen levels, suggesting reduced oxygen consumption by the kidney cells, and that PGC-1α induction may be necessary for recovery from this disorder.
Journal Article

A history of streptokinase use in acute myocardial infarction.

TL;DR: The Gruppo Italiano per la Sperimentazione della Streptochinasi nell'Infarto Miocardico (GISSI) trial in 1986 not only validated streptokinase as an effective therapeutic method but also established a fixed protocol for its use in acute myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Waist circumference measurement by site, posture, respiratory phase, and meal time: implications for methodology.

Journal ArticleDOI

Combined Epidural-General Anesthesia vs General Anesthesia Alone for Elective Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair.
