Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-"-Omics" Profiling in Patients With Quiescent Inflammatory Bowel Disease Identifies Biomarkers Predicting Relapse.
Nienke Z. Borren,Nienke Z. Borren,Damian R. Plichta,Amit Joshi,Gracia Bonilla,Ruslan I. Sadreyev,Hera Vlamakis,Hera Vlamakis,Ramnik J. Xavier,Ramnik J. Xavier,Ashwin N. Ananthakrishnan +10 more
TL;DR: Proteomic, metabolomic, and microbial biomarkers identify a proinflammatory state in quiescent IBD that predisposes to clinical relapse.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma factor VII‐activating protease antigen levels and activity are increased in ischemic stroke
Ellen Hanson,Sandip M. Kanse,Sandip M. Kanse,Amit Joshi,Katarina Jood,Staffan Nilsson,Christian Blomstrand,Christina Jern +7 more
TL;DR: Factor VII‐activating protease is a recently discovered plasma protease with a role in the regulation of hemostasis and vascular remodeling processes and there are no data on plasma FSAP in ischemic stroke (IS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Photo activation of HPPH encapsulated in "Pocket" liposomes triggers multiple drug release and tumor cell killing in mouse breast cancer xenografts.
Jessica Sine,Cordula Urban,Derek Thayer,Heather Charron,Niksa Valim,Darrell B. Tata,Rachel Schiff,Robert Blumenthal,Amit Joshi,Anu Puri +9 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the quenching ratios of liposome-entrapped calcein in the laser treated samples indicated that the laser-triggered release occurred via the graded mechanism, and encapsulated the red light activatable anticancer photodynamic therapy drug 2-(1-Hexyloxyethyl)-2-devinyl pyropheophorbide-a (HPPH) together with Calcein as a marker for drug release in Pocket liposomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deficiency of Factor VII activating protease alters the outcome of ischemic stroke in mice.
Amit Joshi,Cyrille Orset,Britta Engelhardt,Eveline Baumgart-Vogt,T. Gerriets,Denis Vivien,Sandip M. Kanse,Sandip M. Kanse +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the lack ofFSAP in mice worsens the outcome of stroke, and in the absence of FSAP there was a stronger inflammatory response and lower cell survival due to insufficient activation of the PI3K/AKT pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary Iron and Heme Iron Consumption, Genetic Susceptibility, and Risk of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Hamed Khalili,Punyanganie S. de Silva,Ashwin N. Ananthakrishnan,Paul Lochhead,Amit Joshi,John J. Garber,James R Richter,Jenny Sauk,Andrew T. Chan +8 more
TL;DR: The suggestive finding that the association between dietary heme iron intake and risk of UC may be modified by a coding variant in Fc&ggr;RIIA gene warrants additional investigation.
