Journal ArticleDOI
Full-Genome Sequence of Porcine Circovirus type 3 recovered from serum of sows with stillbirths in Brazil.
Caroline Tochetto,Delberis A. Lima,Ana Paula Muterle Varela,Márcia Regina Loiko,W. P. Paim,Camila Mengue Scheffer,Juliana Inês Herpich,Cristine Cerva,C. Schmitd,Samuel Paulo Cibulski,A. C. Santos,Fabiana Quoos Mayer,Paulo Michel Roehe +12 more
TL;DR: Two full-genome sequences of porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) are reported, recovered from pooled serum samples from sows who had just delivered litters with variable numbers of stillbirths.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of a genome of a distant relative of chicken anemia virus reveals a new member of the genus Gyrovirus
Franciscus Antonius Maria Rijsewijk,Helton Fernandes dos Santos,Thais Fumaco Teixeira,Samuel Paulo Cibulski,Ana Paula Muterle Varela,Diogenes Dezen,Ana Cláudia Franco,Paulo Michel Roehe +7 more
TL;DR: A 2.4-kb phi29 polymerase amplification product from serum of a diseased chicken was cloned and sequenced, showing limited similarities to a representative genome of chicken anemia virus, and it is proposed that the newly identified virus is a new species in the genus Gyrovirus.
Journal ArticleDOI
The intestinal virome of malabsorption syndrome-affected and unaffected broilers through shotgun metagenomics.
Diane Alves de Lima,Samuel Paulo Cibulski,Caroline Tochetto,Ana Paula Muterle Varela,Fabrine Finkler,Thais Fumaco Teixeira,Márcia Regina Loiko,Cristine Cerva,Dennis Maletich Junqueira,Fabiana Quoos Mayer,Paulo Michel Roehe +10 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate no association between the occurrence of MAS and enteric viruses, and the viral genomes reported in the present study seem part of the normal intestinal microbiota of chickens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Faecal virome of healthy chickens reveals a large diversity of the eukaryote viral community, including novel circular ssDNA viruses.
Diane Alves de Lima,Samuel Paulo Cibulski,Fabrine Finkler,Thais Fumaco Teixeira,Ana Paula Muterle Varela,Cristine Cerva,Márcia Regina Loiko,Camila Mengue Scheffer,Helton Fernandes dos Santos,Fabiana Quoos Mayer,Paulo Michel Roehe +10 more
TL;DR: The characterization of the faecal virome of healthy chickens described here not only provides a description of the viruses encountered in such niche but should also represent a baseline for future studies comparing viral populations in healthy and diseased chicken flocks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutralizing antibodies to bovine herpesvirus types 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) and its subtypes
Ana Paula Muterle Varela,Carine Lidiane Holz,Samuel Paulo Cibulski,Thais Fumaco Teixeira,Dinler A. Antunes,Ana Cláudia Franco,L.R. Roehe,Martha Trindade Oliveira,Fabrício Souza Campos,Diogenes Dezen,Alexander Cenci,Wilia Marta Elsner Diederichsen de Brito,Paulo Michel Roehe +12 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided for no association between any particular virus type/subtype and higher SN sensitivity, and it was clearly shown that when SN is performed with single test challenge viruses, sensitivity can vary so significantly that might compromise control or eradication efforts.
