Origin of Zoned Metal Grains in the QUE94411 Chondrite

TL;DR: In this article, a laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was used to measure distributions of the siderophile elements P, V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, W, Re, Os, Ir, and Pt in metal grains in the metal-rich chondrite QUE94411 with a spatial resolution of similar to 30 mum.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new model for biomineralization and trace-element signatures of Foraminifera tests

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combine confocal-laser scanning-microscopy observations of a membrane-impermeable fluorescent marker in the extant benthic species Ammonia aomoriensis with dynamic 44 Ca- labeling and NanoSIMS isotopic imaging of its test.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mantle material in the main belt: Battered to bits?

TL;DR: The complete differentiation of a chondritic parent body is believed to result in an object with an Fe-Ni core, a thick olivine-dominated mantle and a thin plagioclase/pyroxene crust.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrogen and carbon isotopic composition of the sun inferred from a high-temperature solar nebular condensate

TL;DR: In this article, high-precision measurements of nitrogen and carbon isotopic compositions of a carbon-bearing titanium-nitride (osbornite) in a calcium-aluminum-rich inclusion (CAI) from the CH/CB-like carbonaceous chondrite Isheyevo are reported.
