Eckhoff,Edward Allen Wenger,Olivier J T Briët,Olivier J T Briët,Melissa A. Penny,Melissa A. Penny,Thomas J. Smith,Thomas J. Smith,Adam Bennett,Joshua Yukich,Thomas P. Eisele,Jamie T. TL;DR: It is found that Plasmodium falciparum infection prevalence in endemic Africa halved and the incidence of clinical disease fell by 40% between 2000 and 2015, and interventions have averted 663 (542–753 credible interval) million clinical cases since 2000.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping the zoonotic niche of Ebola virus disease in Africa
David M. Pigott,Nick Golding,Adrian Mylne,Zhi Huang,Andrew J. Henry,Daniel J. Weiss,Oliver J. Brady,Moritz U. G. Kraemer,David L. Smith,Catherine L. Moyes,Samir Bhatt,Peter W. Gething,Peter Horby,Isaac I. Bogoch,John S. Brownstein,Sumiko R. Mekaru,Andrew J. Tatem,Kamran Khan,Simon I. Hay +18 more
TL;DR: Increasing population sizes and international connectivity by air since the first detection of EVD in 1976 suggest that the dynamics of human-to-human secondary transmission in contemporary outbreaks will be very different to those of the past.
Journal ArticleDOI
Defining the Geographical Range of the Plasmodium knowlesi Reservoir
Catherine L. Moyes,Andrew J. Henry,Nick Golding,Zhi Huang,Balbir Singh,J. Kevin Baird,Paul N. Newton,Michael A. Huffman,Kirsten A. Duda,Chris Drakeley,Iqbal R. F. Elyazar,Nicholas M. Anstey,Qijun Chen,Zinta Zommers,Samir Bhatt,Peter W. Gething,Simon I. Hay +16 more
TL;DR: A systematic review and ranked the existing evidence, at a subnational spatial scale, to investigate the potential geographical range of the parasite reservoir capable of infecting humans, providing geographical evidence to support decisions on prevention, management and prophylaxis.

Providing open access data online to advance malaria research and control
TL;DR: The results of a project set up to release data gathered, used and generated by the Malaria Atlas Project are described, which allows more than 40,000 survey records to be visualized on a set of dynamic maps and downloaded from the MAP website on a free and unrestricted basis.
