Journal ArticleDOI

Sea spray aerosol as a unique source of ice nucleating particles

TL;DR: It is shown that INPs are emitted using real wave breaking in a laboratory flume to produce sea spray aerosol (SSA) emissions, and the number concentrations of INPs from laboratory-generated SSA, when normalized to typical total aerosol number concentrations in the marine boundary layer, agree well with measurements from diverse regions over the oceans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxicity assessment of zinc oxide nanoparticles using sub-acute and sub-chronic murine inhalation models

TL;DR: ZnO NP inhalation studies showed minimal pulmonary inflammation, cytotoxicity or lung histopathologic changes, leading to the conclusion that ZnO NPs have low sub-chronic toxicity by the inhalation route.
